1. Purpose

These terms of use govern the use of the tactac-gps.com website and the TacTac mobile application, a GPS navigation service dedicated to license-free cars.

2. Description of the service

TacTac offers a GPS navigation service adapted to license-free cars, including:

  • Route calculation excluding roads banned for license-free cars (motorways, expressways)
  • Travel time estimation at the top speed of license-free cars (45 km/h)
  • Voice guidance

3. Access to the service

The service is available in a free version (1 trip per day) and a Premium version (€9.99/month, unlimited trips). Signing up requires a valid email address.

4. Liability

TacTac is a navigation aid and in no way replaces the Highway Code and the signage in force. The user remains solely responsible for complying with the Highway Code and for the safety of their driving.

The routes offered are indicative and based on OpenStreetMap map data, which may contain inaccuracies. TacTac cannot be held liable for:

  • Errors or inaccuracies in the calculated routes
  • Changes to road signage not yet taken into account
  • Temporary interruptions of the service

TacTac cannot be held liable for indirect damages, including in particular loss of time, delays or detours caused by the use of the service.

TacTac's liability is limited to the amount of the subscription actually paid by the user during the 12 months preceding the triggering event.

5. Subscription and cancellation

The Premium subscription is billed monthly via the App Store or Google Play. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, with no additional charge.

6. Intellectual property

The TacTac application, its interface, its source code and its content are the exclusive property of TacTac. The map data comes from OpenStreetMap (ODbL licence).

7. Personal data

The processing of personal data is described in our privacy policy.

8. Changes to the terms

TacTac reserves the right to amend these terms of use. Users will be informed by email of any substantial change.

9. Applicable law

These terms of use are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the French courts will have jurisdiction.

TacTac uses the following open source projects:

  • OpenStreetMap, map data under the Open Database License (ODbL)
  • Valhalla, routing engine under the MIT licence
