Two vehicles

Microcar or moped, the same GPS

TacTac knows one rule: 45 km/h and no motorways. It holds for a light quadricycle just as it does for a 50cc moped.

The TacTac map screen with the chosen vehicle

Light quadricycle

Aixam, Ligier, Microcar, Chatenet, Citroën Ami, Fiat Topolino. The route leaves out dual carriageways and the arrival time is worked out at your real pace.

The microcar GPS
Three suggested routes, all suited to 45 km/h

50cc scooter and moped

The same permitted roads, the same bans left out. A 50cc and a light quadricycle carry exactly the same traffic restrictions.

Inside the app

What you see while you drive

The filtered route shows up live, along with your speed and an arrival time worked out for a license-free car, not a saloon.

The app

Everything you need to drive at ease, in a single app.

Routes at your speed, banned roads kept out, and the map within reach even with no signal.

  • Routes suited to 45 km/h

TacTac works out trips only on roads open to license-free cars and 50cc scooters. No motorway, no expressway, and a realistic arrival time based on your real speed.

  • Offline maps, all of Europe

Download your region's map and navigate with no connection at all. Ideal in the countryside, in a dead zone or underground.

  • Banned roads kept out

Motorways, expressways and roads above 70 km/h are automatically excluded from your routes. You only drive where your license-free car is allowed.

Waze, Google Maps & TacTac

Why a standard GPS is not enough

Waze / Google Maps

  • Sends you onto motorways and expressways banned for license-free cars.
  • Works out travel times for 90 to 130 km/h, never for a license-free car at 45 km/h.
  • Ignores roads banned for light quadricycles and 50cc vehicles.
  • No account taken of 50cc scooters and mopeds.
  • Wrong arrival time: you turn up late every time.

TacTac

  • Only roads open to license-free cars and 50cc vehicles.
  • Routes worked out for 45 km/h, with a realistic arrival time.
  • Motorways, expressways and roads above 70 km/h kept out automatically.
  • Designed from the start for microcars, scooters and 50cc mopeds.
  • Voice guidance and offline maps.

Waze and Google Maps are built for ordinary cars. They do not know that a license-free car or a 50cc scooter drives at 45 km/h and may not take the motorway. The result: dangerous routes and wrong travel times. TacTac is built for the opposite.

The real questions

What you are probably wondering

Available on iPhone. Download the app and drive at ease.

How much does TacTac cost?

The app downloads for free and you can plan your routes. Guided navigation needs a subscription, in two plans: Solo at 12.99 €/month (99.99 €/year) for 1 driver, or Family at 19.99 €/month (149.99 €/year) covering a parent + 1 child with real-time family tracking. No commitment, cancel any time.

Which vehicles are compatible?

Any vehicle capped at 45 km/h and banned from motorways: microcars (Aixam, Ligier, Microcar, Chatenet, Citroën AMI, Fiat Topolino) as well as 50cc scooters and mopeds. The rule is simple: if you cannot take the motorway, TacTac is made for you.

Can a 50cc scooter or moped use it?

Yes. A 50cc vehicle drives at 45 km/h and is allowed neither on the motorway nor on the expressway, exactly like a microcar. So TacTac works out routes with no road banned for the AM licence.

How does TacTac filter roads?

The engine relies on OpenStreetMap data and a routing profile capped at 45 km/h. It automatically excludes motorways, expressways and any road above 70 km/h.

Does the app work without a connection?

Yes, with Premium. You download your region's maps and navigate with no connection at all, ideal in rural areas where the signal drops.

Which phones is it available on?

TacTac is available on iPhone (iOS 15+), to download on the App Store. The Android version (8+) is coming soon: sign up to be told as soon as it is out.
